In the race to get more contacts with ZL8X I have come upon a major stumbling block---I have never before had a SSB QSO on 160M! So, stuck with 20 contacts (10-160M CW plus SSB and RTTY on other bands), my next hunt will be to go the other way around and hope for an opening on 6M. For three days now I have listened and even called but the Magic Band seems to be quiet. I'm keeping my fingers crossed...

It was a great operation, and the ops they had were awesome. I really enjoyed this one. Did manage to get them on 160 cw, 40 ssb/cw, 30 cw, 17 rtty/ssb, and 15 ssb/cw. Completely missed themon 80, 20, & 10 (didn't have much hope for them on 6 from the east coast)...just wasn't on at the right time :-)

Yes, that was a fine operation. Class A operators all the way. I listened to one op who patiently gave a PY a CW contact on 17M. The PY kept calling blindly and ZL8X answered and answered and answered. Only after maybe 40 minutes did the PY hear him and completed the contact. I heard their beacon on 6M a couple of times and called and called and called but no joy. Still, I maintain that that DXpedition was superb!
