Haven't made any contacts lately. Just listening.
This morning I heard Ireland, Scotland and some Aussies on 15m. Heard a few folks on 17m, 12m; even one wee signal on 10m! Maybe the bands are re-opening.
Honestly I haven't heard anyone I'd WANT to speak to in quite a bit. I prefer conversation, I'm not into getting signal reports. Most folks either lie, or don't understand how it should work anyway. BoRiNg!
If anyone actually wants to talk to a geezer, I'd be smiling while we set up a sked.
Using the Comet CHA250BX, I can't pre-amp on receive. If I do, I hear folks that can't hear me @ 100w thru this antenna.
Its a great CONUS CW setup however. I've very seldom failed at a contact using that mode.
Must order more coax for the 17m rotatable dipole and for the 160m vert ground mount I'm building.
Got the mount & radial plate installed yesterday. Shopping for economical radial wire.
Got an catalog, shopping for a kite to loft a vertical wire. May have to go the helium route occasionally.

Yes'sir its been a coons age. Hope life is treating you superbly.
Working my geriatric buns off. Still climbing wind turbines, heading toward being debt free for the 3rd time. This time I'll stay that way. Maybe take a job at the U & take up coed watching ;).
