My Ham Radio Interests
My specific interests in amateur radio are emergency communications and providing communications at special events, however, I'm still learning and hope to get into other areas as well-like setting up a weather station, getting into WinLink, and doing some HF work. I'm currently studying to upgrade to General Class.

2009 is coming to an end and we will be starting a new year this week-end. We've got ARRL Kid's Day coming up Jan 3 and SPAR Winter Field Day coming up on Jan 30. This is my first blog entry for quite some time here. Since then, I've become even more active in our ham community here in Clallam County, WA. In addition to being Net control coordinator for our amateur radio club I'm also net control coordinator for Clallam County ARES. I've gotten more involved in 10 meters phone and am working towards my work-all-states award. I've only got 6 so far. I'm also working on getting 10-10 numbers.
I've been participating in several 2-meter nets:
West Coast Amateur Radio Association Mon net (Victoria, B.C. Canada)
Clallam County Amateur Radio Emergency Services' Tues net
WARA Emergency Services Wed net
Clallam County Amateur Radio Club Thurs net
LDS Emergency Sunday net
DEC 2008 I took the National Weather Service's SKYWARN training to become a weather spotter.
