My Ham Radio Interests
QTH: Conroe Texas.
I always seem to take a wide interest in this hobby. This year I have been getting into VINTAGE amateur radio equipment. Operating, restoring, building, old tube radio equipment. Murph@k5cxo.net

Equipment
ICOM 756PRO, AL572 amp feeding a DX-CC ant up at 30 feet.
Hallicrafters SX-140
Hallicrafters S-38a and S-38b
Hammarlund HQ-110c
2 Kenwood TM-V7 in there box's (not used)

Most of the test and alignment equipment needed to put the older radio back in the working order.

Other Interests
I retired from the Air Force in 1994 at Cheyenne WY. I went to work selling home electronics and moved from area to area for 3 or 4 years. I settled in Dale City, Va just out side Washington DC in 1997 and went to work for HRO (Ham Radio Outlet VA). I think most hams would be excited just to be able to visit a major ham store but work in one, this was a great time for me over the next 5 years working for HRO. I did retire and move to Texas in 2003 where I was able to spend a lot of time with my mother and father.

Clubs
I am a life member of the ARRL and Past member of the ShyWy Amateur Radio in Cheyenne, Wy and Souris Valley Amateur Radio Club in Minot, ND. Currently live in Conroe, TX and no local club in the area I think there is a monthly luncheon in the area..

I notice today after logging on that there were new ads from Google in the Ham Shack pages, Great! I want to fully support this free service and you should also. Before leaving Ham Shack click on at least 1 Google ad. This will add a little jingle to the owners pocket. and want cost you anything but a click of the mouse.

Dear Jim:
Great site / great service! I just placed the classified ad that pertains to ham radio cartoons and custom cartoons for QSL cards at my http://www.danscartoons.com/ham_radio_cartoons.htm page. I felt compelled to offer feedback based upon your asking visitors to click your ads. Please be aware this is against the Google "terms of service" in the contract you agreed upon when signing up with their affiliate program. By all means, you don't need to tell me...I know it's an honest mistake but a mistake none the less. It could easily get your account banned with big G. My comment is simply constructive criticism and here it it is: set up an account with PayPal. Then downoad some of their "donation" buttons. This will definitely be a better (and safer!) alternative....and PayPal is free and so are donations! I just wanted to make my comment public here, and emphasize I am certain it's an hnest mistake or you certainly wouldn't have reiterated it here. In any case, I appreciate being here and wishing you continued success and all the best for the new 2010 coming up!
