EI185RNLI for 185 years of Royal National Lifeboat Institution

Hi guys. Just got back from Galway RNLI station where Galway VHF members group were activating an special callsign EI185RNLI to commemorate 185 years of the service Royal National Lifeboat Institute.

We were active from 160 to 20 meters CW, SSB and digital.

I was operating 40 meter PSK31 - my favorite mode, but unfortunately there were really poor conditions, and - what a shame - contester(s) disregarding the fact, that the digital portion of the spectrum _is not_ their contest playground for SSB phone. Well... contests its not my cup of tea and it would not be in the near future also.

Anyway many thanks must go to the (as usual) German and Spanish ops, who did not let me down, doing PSK at nearly dead band last night.

For those of you guys who would like to catch such an unusual station as EJ185RNLI for their logbooks there is a good news: next weekend Galway VHF group will be operating from the Aran Island Lifeboat station at Kilronan, Inishmore. Then we would be back with EI185RNLI from Clifden Lifeboat Station, Ballyconneely, over the weekend of the 28th and 29th of November.

Of course every QSO made with EI/EJ 185RNLI would be awarded with QSL card through the Bureau.
