Shack Update

Well here it is almost another year of my 31 years of radio. I have had many radios thru the years and have finally come full circle. I started out with a used Yaesu FT-101EE in 1987. What a good rig it was to me. Thru the years I tried Kenwood, Ten Tec, Icom, and here I am 31 years later back with the old standby Yaesu. Seems as if I just had to try all those new fancy rigs with all the bells and whistles. Can't say they were all good, had so many in and out of the shop I finally came to the conclusion that I am getting old and I need to stick to something I can understand in my final years of our great hobby. I finally found a mint Yaesu FT-1000MP Mark 5, had never had anything done to it since it was new. So sent it off to Byron WA4GEG the Yaesu Master. After couple of weeks in Tenn. with Byron it's back in the shack and preforms like new. I am so glad I finally gave up the fancy new rigs and got one that hears well and is a great performer. I promise myself to never go after the fancy bells and whistles again. This rig is a keeper and after 31 years my shack is finally where I want it to be. All my thanks to Byron WA4GET for his outstanding work on my Mark 5. Looking forward to more years on the air with a rig I can trust.

Best DXing,
Ron N7RD
