While visiting my pals shack I saw he had a Heathkit twoer. We need an inter shack connection and he is only 8 miles away from me. I told him to hang onto it and I picked one up on Ebay or rather my sister did as it was one of those wont ship to Canada sellers??????????. Anyway it arrived here after a month or so and it works. I had two crystals in my junk box and tested the transmitter as well.
Perfect! May even work some DX as a few still have their Gonset communicators and while far away are so much higher elevation with only Lake Ontario between up it might actually work.
Which brings me to another point. Should anyone want to do an on air test on a band I am good for with low power or homebrew please just give me a heads up. I know how difficult it can be getting a weak signal report. Usualy you just get ignored. So for that reason I would be there for you. Just ask. Any band I am good for. 160 to 2M.
