Plasma RFI!!

Well someone in my neighborhood must have purchased a Plasma TV over the holidays cuz for the last few days I have been bombarded with a S9+20 noise level on 160 and 80 meters. Most of the big box outlets were almost giving them away!

Time to pull out my portable receiver and walk the neighborhood. I hope it is just another streetlight and not plasma RFI as I think I would be more successful in getting a streetlight fixed. The noise blanker on the 940 does an admirable job of knocking it down and dialing in 10db of attenuation helps, but you can tell it is still there.

Does anyone know how high a frequency is affected by plasma interference? Does it go up into the VHF and UHF ranges? Maybe time to trade the 940 station for an all mode V/UHF setup!
