I had $65 that I wasnt using so I got a Baofeng UV-5R from import Not a bad little radio. The menu setup is a little odd when compared to Icom or Yaesu but not too hard to figure out. The manual was written by someone who may have once been in the same room with a native English speaker. The free programming software s worth every penny. Remember to take your blood pressure meda before trying it.

I notice the TYT TH-F8 looks like the same model and is relatively attractive.Thats what I've got. The menu structure is different to the average radio but programming it is strait forward once you get the hang of out.
Good little cheapie. Have fun with your UV-5R
