Well the Elk log periodic finally arrived.
Went out into the garden this afternoon to catch the 13:34 pass of AO27.
It all started well with me receiving data packets from the sat then it all went dead. I turned the antenna this way and that with no results. Finally i realised that i had forgotten to tune the downlink for doppler. DOH!!
Well maybe next time. I am spending this evening entering frequencies into my ft817 memory for S0-50.
The next job is to find a small piece of plastic pie so that i can mount the antenna to a tripod, this should make swinging the beastie around much easier, as i have arthritis and found it quite hard to hold the Elk for the whole pass.
