Hi, thanks for taking the time to read my first attempt at blogging.
Arrived here on the island 2 months ago.
Due to work loads I could not get active on the air as quick as I could.
I was introduced to Pitcairn’s 2 most active hams, VP6MW Meralda and VP6DB Dave.
These two made me feel welcome.
Dave is the president of the Pitcairn’s radio club VP6PRC.
He has allowed me unlimited access to the clubs station, which has been a great help.
I work rotating shifts and can not always be on air when I want to or when the bands are open.
When I have I have been having a blast. The Ft-857d sure has paid for itself with the fun I have had.
My first pileup was a real eye opener, I think some of our brothers and sisters need to learn to wait and show patients towards fellow hams.
I will add to this as time permits.
