My Ham Radio Interests
Voice over PSK31 (VoPSK), Software Defined Radio (SDR), DSP, Narrowband TV (NBTV) over HF, and Independent Sideband (ISB) over HF (for simultaneous voice and video).

Voice over PSK31 (VoPSK) uses speech recognition software for transmitting, so that the keyboard is used only for editing errors in the speech-generated text. Text-to-speech (TTS) software is used for receiving, so that the operator can monitor the other station's transmission without watching the PC screen. Macros can be used with VoPSK, just as with keyboard-based PSK31. VoPSK is more spectrum-efficient than any other digital voice mode, and is permitted in any bandplan segment designated for PSK31 (including 30M).

HF Transceivers: Ten-Tec Jupiter, Kachina 505DSP, Small Wonder Labs PSK-10 modified for use as SDR with 12 kHz IF

Antenna: Butternut HF5B 2-element beam at 30 feet

Soundcard interface: Homebrew (transformer-coupled)

IMD Monitor (for my transmitted signal): KK7UQ IMD Meter

Headset/Mic: GigaWare USB Headset/Mic (a Cyber Acoustics USB speaker is used for monitoring while away from the operating desk)

Software: VoPSK uses MixW 2.18 for TX/RX and YGPSK 4.6.4.5 for RX, with Microsoft Speech Recognizer 6.0 (AKA "Speech Add-In for Internet Explorer") for TX/RX

QTH is Buena Vista, Colorado, a small mountain town at 8,000 ft. elevation in the Rockies, located about 100 miles west of Colorado Springs, along the Arkansas River.
