My Ham Radio Interests
Editor of the Collins Journal, the official publication of the Collins Radio Association, the world's largest Collins amateur radio group. Go to http://www.collinsra.com

The Collins Radio Association exists to preserve Collins amateur radio equipment by promoting and encouraging its restoration and on the air use.

Our Present Goals and Activities:

Encourage hams, especially the newcomer, to share the enjoyment that comes from owning and operating Collins.
Distribute manuals, service information and facilitate the maintenance of the products throughout a network of Collins Helpers.

Facilitate the exchange of information regarding Collins radio equipment and the company that produced them with multiple, weekly HF/VHF amateur radio nets and a World Wide Web site.

Provide for members a truly useful new World Wide Web site, with pictures and descriptions of members and their collections, see/swap area, a troubleshooting database, event bulletins, etc.

Actively seek the support of national radio wholesalers and parts outlets to offer a discount to our members.

Provide a network of Collins helpers to provide technical assistance within their local geographic areas.

Assist in the procurement, disposal, and appraisal of Collins radio equipment.

Benefits:

The CRA publishes the Collins Journal, the only technical Collins magazine read by thousands of readers around the world. The 'Collins Radio Center' which will be open in the spring of 2001 houses the most extensive private collection of Collins technical publications, papers, and other documents in which copies can be secured by request.

The CRA organizes each spring the 'Collins Forum' held inside the Hara Arena at the Dayton Hamvention.

The CRA also sponsors the QTH.NET mail list: collins@qth.net and the CRA website at www.collinsra.net

A beautiful color membership certificate is available upon joining the CRA.

The CRA maintains a network of volunteer 'Collins Helpers' who are scattered across the world to assist you in any facet of this hobby, such as technical assistance, appraisal services, locating parts, etc. A private phone number is open 24 hours a day for immediate technical assistance as well: (814) 487-4403.

The CRA also maintains an inventory of Collins parts both new, used, and reproduction items for its members in their restoration projects
