New Desk

The new desk project is coming along nicely. I have to admit it has been more work and time than I originally planned for. Just completed the drawers and installed them today. Still to go is a small 2nd keyboard drawer for the Yaesu DMU-2000 keyboard and two bookshelves that will be under the desk. The bookshelves will help with storage eliminating an up-right book shelf currently taking up too much space in the shack.

The new desk theme was "strength" to support all the shack equipment without bowing or sagging. With the 1.5" (5/8" plywood glued and screwed) desktop the goal seems to have been achieved. More than once I have stood on the desk with equipment to hang photos etc. and the desk does not move at all!

Very nice! My brother-in-law built a desk with a 2 level removable shelf on top and it works well for me.
