My Ham Radio Interests
K5DXG is a contest and DX group based on the ideas of ham radio and Elmers. The loss of CW tests is not what we at Kostal 5 DX Group see as the making unintelligent of amateur radio operators. The slow loss of the concept of Elmers and teaching is where ham radio is woefully falling short. Far to many hams have forgotten how to pass on the intelligence, mastery and wisdom they have and the traditions that are "Ham Radio". We at K5DXG welcome all members that wish to learn ham radio and DXing the polite and traditional way. Let us all bring back Elmers to Amateur Radio, and "teach" the new hams what it means to be a "ham". Then we can all be fully accountable for keeping our hobby and air waves full of bright, knowledgeable and polite operators.
