My Ham Radio Interests
Hi, Ham Radio started for me in the 1950's when my dad filled the house with ex-army, R.A.F., and other surplus junk.
As a young boy, I began to enjoy the radio.

I have maintained the interest, and became licensed in 1983, I enjoy repairing stuff, building antennas and chasing DX

Equipment
I do like the old stuff, and if something needs fixing that is valved, I get a real buzz from doing that.

In the shack is an FT901 still looks and works perfectly, the main rig is the IC756 pro 2. What a machine!

If antenna tuning is necessary, it is accomplished with a FC901 antenna tuner and if more power is needed, I own a Heatherlite Hunter Linear Amp, one of the original British made Linears. It works a treat and comprises a single 3-500 tube.

Other Interests
The QTH is in Bridgwater Bay, Somerset, in the small seaside town of Burnham-on-Sea, the area is also known for work by Maeconi at Brean Down, he got some good DX from there, the transatlantic comms cable comes in close to here, and we are 300 metres from the old Royal Navy radio station, and 300 metres from the sea.
