Hi Klaus,

Do you know if there are any plans to make it transmit in the AM mode? I read a bit about it, and see it is only receive in AM mode. I like the rig, but would want the ability to work AM on 40m & 15m.

70 years of spanish URE!

Hey friends!
Got a lot of time in the shack last two weeks and have worked a few of the spanish special calls. It makes a lot of fun to collect the points for silver, gold and platin diploma on the several bands. Experimenting with new choke baluns on the lower bands with my inverted L antenna. So take part on that special activating by the spanish OM's, they will have a great pleasure to pick you up in their list

Have fun and enjoy, 73 de Klaus, DG1SGW.

How's that inverted L working out, and how do you have it set up? Been wanting on on the low bands for years, but never did it.

Radioddity GD 77!

Hi folks!
A few days ago i got my new GD77 Dualband DMR radio. It is looking very nice and robust and has 1 or 5W on 70cm or 2M. A very stabile antenna on SMA and can do both bands in DMR and FM analog. Has a great 2200 mAh battery and is really a good handheld TRX with a light weight and a nice price also. a very good chance for everybody to look inside the DMR mod on 2 bands! I got also only very good reports for the audio quality on FM and DMR. So if you are interressted have a look on that tiny lightweighted handheld transceiver.

Complete own hotspot in DG1SGW's station!

Hi friends out there!
I did now a next and final step to complete my own hotspot in all digital main modes. There are 4 Raspberry Pi 3B runing each with a DV4Mini in DMR, DPMR, C4FM and Dstar. The next thing i added is the fantastic DV4Home V2 to be qrv in NXD, Dstar, DMR and C4FM, these modes will be completed and updated by Ullrich DC3AX from time to time. At last but not least will have an Shark open spot. Working most of the time DMR. So i am qrv mostly on Dstar, DMR, and C4FM.

Thanks for reading and contacts in all modes, vy 73 de KLAUS, DG1SGW.

Next step in own Hotspot!!!

Hi out there!
I have been made the next step to complete my hotspot here in my qth. Now installed 2 x Raspberry III B with a DV 4 mini stick for 2 M which are working very well also on 70 cm. In C4FM and DPMR mode they are runing very stabil and with very low power around 30 Microwatts each. For DMR and Dstar modes i let the old one's run also with very low power. So my Hotspot is now complete in every digital mode runing with a DV 4 mini and an own Raspberry Pi. Qrv now in Dstar, DMR, C4FM and DPMR.
Dstar standing by on: Reflector DCS 001 CL, D103, Germany.
DMR standing by on : DCS 4010 GERMANY CHAT 2.
C4FM standing by on : FCS 001 Group 01 GERMANY.
DPMR standing by on : LCD 001 Group 01 DEUTSCHLAND.

I hope to contact some of you via my hotspot in a digital mode.

Hi Klaus I am Phil 2E0TMI from the UK your full digital hotspot sounds good, I also use the DV4Mini on DMR but lately I have been trying dPMR but cannot get the radio settings correct to pass audio from LCS001 which I do connect with on xReflector, could you please advise and share your settings for the dPMR server connection?

What kind of radio are you using on DPMR? They are not all compatible and may be yours is not working in DPMR with the others.

CODEPLUG DPMR RETEVIS RT II !

Hello dear friends!
If you like to be qrv on the digital mode DPMR you should have the CP for a RETEVIS RT II handheld transceiver. DO3BT, Thomas in Bremen had written and programmed a new Codeplug for DPMR mode very close leant to DMR with 2 Talkgroups on the reflector. TG 9 for local qsos and ALL CALL, so it is possible to hear and talk to the other OMs on DPMR. If you need the CP do not hesitate to email me: DG1SGW@web.de and its been sent to you for free. Looking forward to make a standard on DPMR.......

Retevis RT II!

After upgrading my hotspot with a third DV4mini and raspberry PI3 i got the new RT II DPMR handheld transceiver which works very good in digital and analog mode. It was organized by my very good friend Markus, DG4SDO who is the sysop of our local DMR repeater DB0SDO. After a few days in use i decided to buy a desktop stand, an external mike, a second battery and an accueliminator for this tiny handheld. Found all on ebay with the help of Thomas, DO3BT, had known via DPMR 01, germany reflector and gave me a codeplug and many usefull hints for DPMR.

Kindest regards de Klaus, DG1SGW.

Update for own hotspot!

Hi friends!
Last friday i have add a new raspberry pi 3 to my own hotspot. After the arrival of my new DV4mini Stick for 2M i entered the image on the microsdcard of the raspi 3 and include it in my hotspot. Therefor i am now able to run DMR on the MD785G via DB0SDO and DPMR, C4FM and Dstar over my hotspot running via thr fritzbox router in my house. The new 2M DV4mini Stick is running very stable and also sending on the 430 mc.The frequencies of my 3 raspis and sticks are 430,2375/ 430,3375/ 430,4375, txpower of all 3 sticks is at maximum 30microwatts! Brings much fun and is easy to work in all digital modes.

Own Hotspots!

Hi friends of HF!
The last weeks i built up here two hotspots with raspberry Pi B+ and raspberry Pi IIB. Including my two DV4mini usbsticks i am able to setup an hotspot for C4FM and DMR, switchable to DStar and DPMR also. Tx power is at max. 30 microwatts and this is much enough on my own grounded gardenplate. Brings much fun and is very easy to work alot of new friends. My HRI200 Interface is to configure also in the hotspot in the next few weeks. See you in DMR, C4FM, DStar and DPMR, 73's de Klaus, DG1SGW in Weinstadt, Germany.

TOKYO HY POWER HANDHELD TRX!

Hello friends!
I own a HT 750 handheld TRX for 40M, 15M and 6M with the separate antenna coils and extern mike. I did not use it very often, but from time to time i have had a lot of fun with it. During the last autumn i want to use it again but it does not work anymore, so what? My very good friend ROLAND, DL6SRD was so kind to look for the mistake, and after a lot of work and many many hours in his shack it works very fine again. With 3W output on 40M and the very short original antenna i was able to talk to the city of naples in south italy. What a great success and pleasure to work that qso with the small HT 750 in my hands. A very big and great TNX to Roland for repairing this tiny old handheld, without your help i would not be able to work with it ever. So again: Many thanks for the repairing and so much time in your shack.

40M DX with the I-Pro Traveller!

Hello friends of Shortwave!
Last night i pick up WA2VUY on 40 meters and i could work him as well as i can hear him. I have been able to do that with my Kenwood TS480HX and my I-Pro Traveller. The antenna is only 3M long and as a vertical dipole it do not have any kind of radials. My output power was round about 200W and i got a 52 report from New Jersey. That was a great event for me and my greatest DX on 40M with this fantastic portable antenna. Do you have any questions about this antenna do not hesitate to email me.

6M Super DX!!!

Hello guys out there!
In the eveninghours of the 20th of may i turn on the power switch of my 6Mstationreceiver and do not trust my ears. I heard about 6-8 ZS stations over the band, oh my god i was just getting tuned and try to reach them. In 10 minutes i was able to work with great success two of them, ZS6AYE and ZS6AF. I could hear also very loud and clear ZS6IQ and ZS6OB, but could not reach them. After ten minutes there were only a few european stations on the band and the opening was all over. That was my greatest opening on 50mc ever in my live and i enjoyed it so much. Of course the cards to South Africa are on their way via airmail.

I-Pro Home tested now!

Hi friends of hf and good contacts on the air!
I have now mounted and tested my new I-Pro Home antenna from Carl G4GTW ;Pro antennas with 38M of aircell7 coaxcable. It is fixed on a stainless steel mast(factured from my good friend Thomas, DL1TK) in a height of round about 3 Meters over the ground in my garden plot(235m a.s.l.). Coax comes to the transforming matcher in a height of 5.8 Meters and is mounted in angle of 45 degrees to ground. No radials and no other things which disturbed my wife in garden area hihi. I can tune it very well and easy with the builtin tuner of my FT2000D from 6m to 30m. On 40m i need my LDG AT 200ProII to tune it also very easy, listening on is also possible with good results. With the normal matching transformer can used up to 25W on 6m and up to 350W on the other bands, but no need for it. It has avery flat angle and i reached in a few days many stations in DX on all bands. A great powerfull performance on 20-10M really outstanding sigs with 200W barefoot. Thats my dream all the years before, calling and calling but DX does not come back with my callsign, now calling, maybe calling once more then DX is coming back with the right Callsign ;mine DG1SGW (:-))). It is a great feeling to come on a pile up and listening a few minutes were DX is listening then call one or two times and get it. DX is logged on both sides. So my dream to have a really good antenna in my small garden not on the roof of my house is coming true.It works very good and gives me a much greater performance and pleasure on the shortwave bands.

Also i have to thank Carl, G4GTW for his very good service and support.

If you have any questions please feel free to email me.

Lieber Klaus,
Sometimes forums get out of hand. Using the comment section still gives one the ability to interact. I moved my projects here for the very reason that forums have problems not found here. Some of the problems forums have are not excusable but they exist anyway.
Nice to see you here.

A longer longwire antenna!

Hi friends of HF and friends of nice QSO's! Yesterday i did a great step in range of a better antenna. After all the trees in my garden plot are fallen, i have now the place to go a bit longer with my wire antenna putting it from 15.5M up to 20.5M. Installing a mast with 8M of height for the other end to the roof of the house it is absolutely fabolous. I can now work with much greater performance on all bands, on 80M my operating range has grown up to round about 4000KM easy. On the 160M also 2500KM no more a big problem, on 40M VK and JA worked so easy as on the higher bands. In my opinion the best length for a endfeeded wire antenna is 20.5M, you do have a good working length on all bands an is easy to tune with the builtin tuner of your transceiver. I hope this helps anybody, pse feel free to email me if any questions.

Successfully Test of MP1 on 80M Band!

And again a Test of the MP1 on 80M with a telescopic Antenna in the Length of 5.15M. On the 80M Band you have to leave the 80Meter Coil out of Construction. The MP1 works great with that Configuration on 40M, 80M and also 160M, but then with the 80M Coil. On the 20M Band i can also work very successfull with the MP1 and the Telescopic Antenna alone. Hope this helps anybody.

Another Test of my I-PRO Traveller Antenna!

Hi Everybody! In the last 10 Days i had great Possibility to test my I-PRO Traveller under hard Conditions. The QTH here is about 510m A.S.L. and in the Middle of 1500-2600m high Mountains. Very close to the italian and slovenian Borderline near Lake Ossiach. On the 10 M Band i worked P29FR, on the 40M Band i worked TF3ARI in the Eveninghours. These are two of many Dx Qso's which were very easy to work, in most of the Time with 100W from my Kenwood TS 480 HX. Every Bandchange is fixed very quick and easily, SWR is always 1:1,5 Minimum. In the End: Agreat Antenna for portable Operation!

MP1 Portabel Antenna!

Hello Everybody Outthere!
I was the last two Weeks in 9A operating my MP1 Antenna factored by Super Antennas in the USA. It was mounted on a ironmade Balcony in about 4m over the Ground, round about 200M away from the croation Coastline. It was a trmendous Qsoline that i get with that small Antenna. Mounted with the Base Clamp and four Radials( 2.5M long each) from 50 Mhz to 1.8 Mhz working on each Band several QSO. Palestina, Lebanon, India, Finland, Norway, Greece, Russia, Oman, Sambia, South Africa, Jordan, Thailand, Egypt, Georgia, Israel and so many more... It was very simple to work without any Tuner and 100W only, every band is very easy to tune direct with the serial telescopic Antenna. On the 1.8 Mhz i have to change it with the 3M Telescop. This works alone on the 50 Mhz and 28, 24, 21 and 18M Bands. Try this Antenna to play with the radio, its great!!! If you have any Questions feel free to email me....

Test I-Pro Traveller Portable Antenna!

Hi Friends!
In EA5 i have a lot of Time to test the I-Pro Traveller on all Bands at all Times. And i have to say it is pretty good to work really DX Stations. The QTH here is about 500m far away from the Coast and above 20M A.S.L. I worked on 12M PJ5, PJ7 and 5N. On 10M A9 and TR8, all Stations gave me REports with 5/9. On 15M worked also very well with VK and VU, 17M tested it with 4X,4L, and 9K. On 20M i have a lot of QSO's with the United States and Canada. On 40 M it is not so great Fun but also to work easy in hole Europe. All the Testqso's are worked with already 100W and my old IC706 without any Tuner. The SWR is being on all Bands at least 1:1,5. So i think this Antenna is doing a very good Job for my Holidays here in the southern Coast of Spain.

Hope this helps somebody, vy 73 de KLAUS, DG1SGW.

MODS BAO FENG UV-3R!

Hi Friends of HF!
I did now all the needfull Modifications to my UV-3R from BAO FENG. This is in the need a MOD by a resistor in the MIC Gain, a resistor in the Speakerline. Now the Modulation is much better and louder than in Original also the Loudness of the Speaker is much much better to regulate than before. The HF Spectrum is very good on the Spectrumanalyzer. It is great Fun to work with this tiny handheld Transceiver on 70CM and 2M with low Power from a Hill over some Repeaters. The Battery has 1500mAh so thats enough for many Hours of Working.

New Playtoy HamRadio 2011!

Hi out there!
Last Friday i visited the HAM RADIO in Friedrichshafen/Lake of Constance and bought my newest Handytalky from Baofeng named UV-3R. Its a nice and tiny Playtoy with all Features which are needed for Amateurradio.Included are a Charger and Battery, also a long Twinbandantenna, a short Twinbandantenna and a special short Antenna for the PMR Frequencies. It has 99 Memories which are programed via the PC, it is able to do Crossband also as WFM Radio. The Modulation is loud and clear with the built in Microphone, the RX is very good, Bandwith is switchable from narrow to wide. Frequencesteps are 5,6.25,10,12.5,25 and 50 kc's. Batterycapacity is about 1500 mAh. So the Question is: Can you get more Fun and Features for only unbelievable 75(seventyfive)EURO's.

OUTBACKER MOBILE ANTENNA!

Hello to ALL! Back from my Trip to Portugal and Spain were i had worked many Stations with my old Outbacker mobile Antenna (1,8M OBB) wanted to get a new OUTBACKER OUTREACH 500 here in Germany. But it seems to be not possible because there are no Dealers or they do not have this Model on Stock. So i sent a short Email to Australia but no Answer in 4 Weeks. Is there anybody who knows something about OUTBACKER, do they still exist?

First Test I-PRO TRAVELLER!

Hi Everybody!
Yesterday was the first practical Test for the new I-PRO Traveller Antenna. Working on 40M and 20M i would say: Tremendous Sigs on this two Bands, Standing Wave Ratio is very easy to adjust and Bandwith is fully okay. The Antenna is built up in 3 Minutes and then when the Thunderstorm has reached our Area is in 2 Minutes in the Backside of my Car.
Have done yesterday about 25 QSO's: SP, GB, W, I, and RA, Reports were at least 5/8, my Output Power was 25 Watts.
The other Bands is also very low SWR but could not test it yet....

NEW PORTABLE ANTENNA I-PRO TRAVELLER!!!

The new I-Pro Traveller Antenna is a very simple to use and built up portable Antenna. Built up in about 4 Minutes and fixing the Coax is another Minute. Also very easy to adjust and RX on each Band from 40M to 10M is fascinating Results. My Experiment is rxing also on the 6M Band with a good Result in my Opinion. SWR is on all Bands fixable to minimum with only changing the angle off the lower Elements. I will try more and scribe it down here, when ready with my Tests next Week.

To be Continued...Klaus
